Hello! We hope you're enjoying March's books and activities! For the month of April we have selected 2 very fun books to enjoy! We are once again using:
for the book readings. The actors and actresses do such a great job, we want to share them with all of you!
Along with the books, we have put together packets again to take home. We will be mass ordering a copy of one book from other libraries to rent and return. You will get to keep the other book, provided by the library! Along with one of the two books of the month, the kits will also come with activities to do and instructions. We have added a couple of new things to the kits; colorful hand bells, stickers, and coloring sheets. If some of the activities are too advanced for your little ones, we've provided extra fingerplays and weblinks to songs. We are doing all we can to make this enjoyable for you all! If you have any recommendations, please don't hesitate to let us know!
"Please Please the Bees" by Gerald Kelly
"Life is sweet for Benedict. Every morning he wakes up to find jars of fresh honey on his back porch. He makes honey toast for breakfast, bakes honey cake in the afternoon, and drinks honey tea before bed. But one day, the jars on Benedict’s porch are empty. The bees in his backyard have gone on strike! They are tired of doing all the work around the hive. What can Benedict do to make the bees happy and bring sweetness back to his days?"
"Sophie's Masterpiece" by Eileen Spinelli
"Sophie's no ordinary house spider. She's an artist; and every web she spins is more wondrous than the one before. But don't mention that to the guests at Beekman's Boardinghouse, because they don't like spiders."
April storytime kits will be available starting Monday, April 5th!
