September brings Banned Books Week — so why not stop by the library and read a few banned and challenged books available on our shelves?
From now until Halloween, the SPL is holding a Banned Books Reading Challenge where patrons can read banned and challenged books and books over controversial topics, fill out a reading log, and submit their logs into a raffle for one of two prizes: Bookish goodies from the American Library Association, and a gift card to CK Sweets.
This challenge can be done in person, or online at: https://engagedpatrons.org/read/index.cfm?SiteID=5546&ReadID=853 (If you participated in the SRP challenge, simply log in using that account!)
This challenge is open for Teens and Adults — so don't be shy!
Banned books touch on sensitive topics that often offended people. Although there are many topics to choose from we decided to focus on these ones.
