Clark the Shark Storytime Kit

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

Hello everyone! We hope you are all excited for Clark the Shark by Bruce Hale! Leanna and I have put together a bunch of fun activities and crafts for the little ones. Starting on Tuesday, September, 8th, the kits will be available to pick up for our online storytime.

"Clark the Shark" by Bruce Hale

Clark is a shark with zingbang, and BOOM. Clark zooms into school, crashes through the classroom, and is rowdy at recess. Clark loves life — but when his enthusiasm is too much for his friends, Clark's teacher, Mrs. Inkydink, helps him figure out a way to tone it down.

You will have the book read to you by actor Chris Pine! He does such a great job, we hope you enjoy his reading as much as we did!

Kits include:

  • a copy of Clark the Shark by Bruce Hale (Make sure to return the copy to the library when you are done!)

  • information page

  • colors game (5 colored sharks)

  • a flyer for this website

  • 2 activity pages

  • rhymes/song pages with weblinks (egg rattle included)

  • a shark craft

  • 3 magnets from the story

HANDOUT GAMES – play with included shark handouts

Can You Show Me…?

(tune: “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)

Can you show me the blue shark?

Blue shark, blue shark?

Can you show me the blue shark?

And wave it in the air?

Gray… purple… pink… green

Hold It High – Choose one shark from handouts

Hold your shark high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your shark below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Hold your shark against your nose

Now touch the shark to your toes

Touch your shark to the ground

Now wave that shark all around!

Hold your shark in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

Hold your shark and jump up high!

Now let your shark fly fly fly (throw it in the air)
