Enemy Pie - Storytime Online

Hello everyone! We hope you are all excited for Enemy Pie by Derek Munson!

Leanna and I have put together a bunch of fun activities and crafts for the little ones. Starting on Monday, November, 1st (today), the kits will be available to pick up for our online storytime.

Enjoy a borrowed copy of the book, and have fun doing the activities. Please return the book after you are done; everything else is yours to keep!

"Enemy Pie" by Derek Munson

“It was the perfect summer. That is, until Jeremy Ross moved into the house down the street and became Enemy Number One. Luckily, Dad has a surefire way to get rid of enemies - Enemy Pie.”

You will have to return this book to the library; everything else is yours to keep!

You will have the book read to you by actress Camryn Manheim. She did such a great job; we hope you enjoy her reading as much as we did!

HANDOUT GAMES – play with included pie slice handouts

Can You Show Me…?

(Tune: “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)

Can you show me the red pie slice?

Red pie slice, red pie slice?

Can you show me the red pie slice?

And wave her in the air?

Purple… blue… brown… orange

Hold It High – Choose one pie slice from handouts

Hold your pie slice high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your pie slice below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Hold your pie slice against your nose

Now touch the pie slice to your toes

Touch your pie slice to the ground

Now wave that pie slice all around!

Hold your pie slice in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

Hold your pie slice and jump up high!

Now let your pie slice fly fly fly (throw it in the air)

BOUNCE RHYME (bounce along with child in lap)

Friend Of Mine

(Tune: “Mary Had A Little Lamb”)

Will you be a friend of mine,

Friend of mine, friend of mine?

Will you be a friend of mine

And bounce up high with me?

Will you be a friend of mine,

Friend of mine, friend of mine?

Will you be a friend of mine

And lean way over with me?

Will you be a friend of mine,

Friend of mine, friend of mine?

Will you be a friend of mine

And bounce real fast with me?

Will you be a friend of mine,

Friend of mine, friend of mine?

Will you be a friend of mine

And bounce…real… slow… with me?

ACTION RHYMES

Alligator Pie

Alligator pie, alligator pie.

If I don’t get some, I think I’m gonna die!

Give away the green grass. Give away the sky.

But don’t give away my alligator pie!

Alligator stew, alligator stew.

If I don’t get some, I don’t know what I’ll do.

Give away my furry hat. Give away my shoe.

But don’t give away my alligator stew.

Alligator soup, alligator soup

If I don’t get some, I think I’m gonna droop.

Give away my hockey stick. Give away my hoop.

But don’t give away my alligator soup!

Pie Wishes

(Tune: “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

Oh, I wish I were a little piece of pie. Yum! Yum!

Oh, I wish I were a little piece of pie. Yum! Yum!

Filled with [apples] all around

With a crust so warm and brown

Oh, I wish I were a little piece of pie. Yum! Yum!

Repeat song with a different filling each time, such as: pumpkin, cherries, chocolate

If You’re Friendly...

(Tune: “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

If you’re friendly and you know it, clap your hands.

If you’re friendly and you know it, clap your hands.

If you’re friendly and you know it, and you really want to show it,

If you’re friendly and you know it, clap your hands!

Wave hello…

Blow a kiss…

Roll, Add, Bake, Done

(Tune: “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”)

Roll, roll, roll that dough.

Roll it fast and slow.

Roll it thick then roll it thin.

Then roll it out again!

Roll, roll, roll that dough.

Making pie is fun!

Add the fruit and bake it up.

Now the pie is done.
