"Harry the Dirty Dog" by Gene Zion

"There's never been another dog as delightful – or dirty – as Harry. This lovable white dog with black spots (or black dog with white spots) has charmed children for fifty years, and we are celebrating with an anniversary edition. This childhood favorite is perfect for reading aloud before going to bed or avoiding a bath."

Everything is yours to keep!!!

You will have the book read to you by actress Betty White. She did such a great job; we hope you enjoy her reading as much as we did!

BOUNCE RHYME (bounce along with child in lap)

A Poodle in a Fuddle

A poodle in a fuddle

In the middle of a puddle!

Will he wade to the left?

(lean child to the left)

Will he wade to the right?

(lean child to the right)

Will he stay in the middle?

(bounce child in the middle)

Till the sun shines bright?

(bounce child up high)

When the sun shines bright,

Will the puddle disappear?

(pause bouncing)

Will the poodle in the middle

(bounce again)

Give a great, big cheer?!

(lift up and say ‘Hooray!’)

ACTION RHYMES

Puppy Dog

(tune: “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear”)

Puppy dog, puppy dog, turn around,

Puppy dog, puppy dog, touch the ground.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, wag your tail.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, drink from the pail.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, sit and beg.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, hold up one leg.

puppy dog, puppy dog, take a walk

Puppy dog, puppy dog, try to talk.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, try to lick

Puppy dog, puppy dog, fetch the stick.

Puppy dog, puppy dog go upstairs

Puppy dog, puppy dog, look for bears.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, turn off the light.

Puppy dog, puppy dog, say goodnight!

(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?

How much is that doggie in the window?

(Bark! Bark!)

The one with the waggly tail?

How much is that doggie in the window?

(Bark! Bark!)

I do hope that doggie's for sale.

I don't want a bunny or a kitty,

I don't want a parrot that talks,

I don't want a bowl of little fishies;

He can't take a goldfish for walks.

How much is that doggie in the window?

(Bark! Bark!)

The one with the waggly tail

How much is that doggie in the window?

(Bark! Bark!)

I do hope that doggie's for sale!

Fleagle The Beagle

Fleagle the Beagle!

(cup hands to mouth as if calling)

It's time for the tub!

(point to a wristwatch)

I know you don't like it

(point to self)

But you need a scrub!!!

(make scrubbing motions)

I'll wash you with soap

(make scrubbing circles)

From your tail to your head,

(point to tail and head)

And when you're all clean

(hold palms up)

You can sleep in my bed.

(rest head in hands)
