Hello! We hope you enjoyed September's books and activities! For the month of October, we have selected 2 very fun books to enjoy! We are once again using:
for the book readings. The actors and actresses do such a great job, we want to share them with all of you! Along with the books, we have put together packets again to take home! We will be mass ordering a copy of one book from other libraries to rent and return. You will get to keep the other book, provided by the library! Along with one of the two books of the month, the kits will also come with activities to do and instructions. We have added a couple of new things to the kits; colorful maracas, stickers, and coloring sheets. If some of the activities are too advanced for your little ones, we've provided extra finger plays and weblinks to songs. We are doing all we can to make this enjoyable for you all! If you have any recommendations, please don't hesitate to let us know!
Our first book will be "Strega Nona" by Tomie DePaola.
“Strega Nona (Grandma Witch) is the source for potions, cures, magic, and comfort in her Calabrian town. Her magical ever-full pasta pot is especially intriguing to hungry Big Anthony. Big Anthony is supposed to look after her house and tend her garden, but one day, when she goes over the mountain to visit Strega Amelia, he recites the magic verse over the pasta pot, with disastrous results.”
This book you will be able to keep, provided FREE from the library!
Our second book will be "Zombie's Don't Eat Veggies" by Megan and Jorge Lacera.
“Mo Romero is a zombie who loves nothing more than growing, cooking, and eating vegetables. Tomatoes? Tantalizing. Peppers? Pure perfection! The problem? Mo's parents insist that their niño eat only zombie cuisine. They tell Mo over and over that zombies don't eat veggies. But Mo can't imagine a lifetime of just eating zombie food and giving up his veggies. As he questions his own zombie identity, Mo tries his best to convince his parents to give peas a chance.”
This book you will have to return to the library. October Online Storytime will start with Strega Nona on the 5th!
