Hello everyone! We hope you are all excited for Sheep Dog and Sheep Sheep by Eric Barclay.

Michelle and I have put together a bunch of fun activities and crafts for the little ones. Starting on Thursday, August 1, the kits are available to pick up for our online storytime this month!

Enjoy a FREE copy of the book and more!

"Sheep Dog and Sheep Sheep" by Eric Barclay

"Sheep is an expert at protecting sheep — or so she thinks until one happy afternoon when she bumps into a very hairy someone on the farm.

'Who are you?' she asks.

'I’m the sheep dog!' the someone says. 'I watch the sheep.'

Holy begonia! Sheep knows this can’t be right. After all, she’s the pro! So Sheep goes off to get everything Sheep Dog needs to get the job done, but each time she goes, something almost happens to Sheep…

And it's Sheep Dog who saves the day!"

Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8qgTCurshw&t=6s to watch the book read aloud for #HarperKids, then enjoy the activities!

White sheep, white sheep?

And wave it in the air?

Black… pink… gray… brown

Hold It High – Choose one sheep from handouts

Hold your sheep high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your sheep below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Now touch the sheep to your toes

Touch your sheep to the ground

Now wave that sheep all around!

Hold your sheep in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

BOUNCE RHYME (bounce along with child in lap)

One Little Sheep Dog

One little sheep dog went out one day,

To watch the sheep all play, play, play.

He saw a sheep and bounced away

Jumping after them all day!

...he saw two sheep...

...he saw three sheep...

...he saw four sheep...

...he saw five sheep...

ACTION RHYMES

Little Lamb, Little Lamb

Little lamb, little lamb, turn around

(turn around)

Little lamb, little lamb, touch the ground

(touch ground with hands)

Little lamb, little lamb, jump up high

(jump)

Little lamb, little lamb, reach the sky

(stretch with arms overhead)

Little lamb, little lamb, sit right down

(sit down)

Little lamb, little lamb, get ready to listen now

(say this line quietly)

Counting Lambs

One little wooly lamb with a coat so new,

Along comes another lamb, and that makes two.

Two little wooly lambs roaming so free,

Along comes another lamb, and that makes three.

Three little wooly lambs by the barn door,

Along comes another lamb, and that makes four.

Four little wooly lambs so glad to be alive,

Along comes another lamb, and that makes five.

Five little wooly lambs having so much fun,

Together now, let’s count them one by one.

1-2-3-4-5.

Dancing Sheep

Shhh! It’s time to go to sleep

(put finger to mouth, pretend to sleep)

But into my bedroom one sheep creeps.

(creep fingers)

“Don’t go to bed,” the one sheep said.

“I would rather dance instead!”

Soon he waaaaaas…

(draw these words out)

Dancing on the ceiling!

(move hands above head in “dancing” motion)

He was dancing on the floor!

(move hands on floor as mentioned above)

He was dancing on the window!

(move hands to one side)

He was dancing on the door!

(move hands to other side)

He kept on…

Dancing on the ceiling!

(sing faster)

He was dancing on the floor!

He was dancing on the window!

He was dancing on the door!

“Stop that dancing, silly sheep.

It is time to go to sleep!”

Soon the sheep lay on the floor.

Soon the sheep began to snore.

So I staaaaarted …

(draw these words out)

Dancing on the ceiling!

I was dancing on the floor!

I was dancing on the window!

I was dancing on the door!
