We are really excited to get back into the swing of things for the Summer Reading Program this year! We will still continue to do our virtual storytime and Book Club books, with a bunch of added activities to do! We will be having SRP events at the library, and also take home kits, activities to do around town, and more! Each activity will have a specific age group.
On Monday, June 7th, we will kick off the program with signups and will have "Boots to Grasses" at 1:00 pm — Boots to Grasses is a therapeutic horsemanship program. Meet two of their mini horses and learn more!
How SRP Works
READING: Prizes can be earned based on how long you read, with a goal of 500 minutes. Reading logs can be picked up at the library. Our SRP program can also be done online this summer! Sign up for an account and keep track of what you read this summer. Links to each age group (kids, teens, and toddlers) will go live on June 7! PLAY BINGO!: To win, you need to do at least fifteen of the twenty activities listed. You can also keep track of your Bingo activities on our online site as well! If you’d prefer an entry form, Bingo cards can also be picked up at the library or downloaded here on or after June 7: https://swantonpubliclibrary.org/summer-reading-program PRIZES: • Read 250 minutes (125 for toddlers): A coupon for a free ice cream cone from Honey Bear or a cookie from Subway (depending on age group). • Read 500 minutes (250 for toddlers): A free book, a free coupon, animal toys, a completion certificate, entry into the Grand Prize Drawing, and more! • Extra prizes are given for the Scavenger Hunt and attending events (safari glasses, etc.)! • BINGO: Everyone who completes their Bingo card will get certificates for Burger King, a wooden snake or rubber duck, and an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. • GRAND PRIZES: Everyone who EITHER completes a Bingo card OR finishes the reading will be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing (two entries are possible if you do both!).
