HANDOUT GAMES – play with included pot handouts

Can You Show Me…?

(tune: “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)

Can you show me the blue pot?

Blue pot, blue pot?

Can you show me the blue pot?

And wave it in the air?

Pink… purple… green… yellow

Hold It High – Choose one pot from handouts

Hold your pot high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your pot below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Hold your pot against your nose

Now touch the pot to your toes

Touch your pot to the ground

Now wave that pot all around!

Hold your pot in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

Hold your pot and jump up high!

Now let your pot fly fly fly (throw it in the air)

SONGS & INSTRUMENTuse included instruments

Chinese for Kids by Chinese Buddy

The Flower Song by Toddler World TV

Flowers Song by LBB Junior

Sing a Song of Flowers by the Kiboomers

BOUNCE RHYME (bounce along with child in lap)

Daffodils

One little daffodil had nothing much to do,

Out popped another one, then there were two.

(bounce child up in the air on ‘popped’)

Two little daffodils were smiling at a bee,

Out popped another one, then there were three.

(bounce child up in the air on ‘popped’)

Three little daffodils were growing by the door,

Out popped another one, then there were four.

(bounce child up in the air on ‘popped’)

Four little daffodils were glad to be alive,

Out popped another one, then there were five.

(bounce child up in the air on ‘popped’)

Five little daffodils were wearing golden crowns,

They danced in the breeze in green satin gowns.

(dance child in lap)

ACTION RHYMES

The Gardener

(Tune: "The Farmer In The Dell")

The gardener plants the seeds

The gardener plants the seeds

Hi, ho and cherry-o

The gardener plants the seeds

The rain begins to fall…

The sun begins to shine…

The plants begin to grow…

The buds all open up…

The flowers smile at me…

A Song of Flowers

(Tune: "Sing a Song of Sixpence")

Sing a song of flowers, flowers all around.

Flowers that are growing, growing in the ground

Flowers of each color make a pretty view.

Red and orange and yellow.

And blue and purple, too.

I'm a Little Flower Pot

(Tune: "I'm a Little Teapot")

I'm a little flower pot left right out

(point to self)

If you take care of me, I will sprout.

(nod head, point to self)

When you water me, I will grow

(make sprinkling motions)

Into a pretty flower, don't you know!

(make wide circle with hands or arms)

Parts Of Plants

(Tune: "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes")

The roots hold the plant in place, plant in place.

The roots hold the plant in place, plant in place.

The roots store food and water too.

The roots hold the plant in place, plant in place.

The stem moves water up the plant, up the plant.

The stem moves water up the plant, up the plant.

The stem brings water to the leaves.

The stem moves water up the plant, up the plant.

The leaves soak up the sun, soak up the sun.

The leaves soak up the sun, soak up the sun.

The sun helps the plant to grow and grow and grow.

The leaves soak up the sun, soak up the sun.

The flower grows into a fruit, into a fruit.

The flower grows into a fruit, into a fruit.

Inside the fruit are little, tiny seeds.

The flower grows into a fruit, into a fruit.
